  • Weekly Planner Wordpress Plugin

Screenshot of the admin interface of the weeky planner.

Weekly Planner is a highly customizable plug-in that makes it easy to keep track of weekly events and display them on your website. Weekly Planner features a colorful, easy-to-read display for your readers, along with very easy-to-use admin interface that makes it easy to add and remove appointmentswhile providing maximum flexibility, allowing you to change virtually every color without any need to modify the CSS itself.

Originally developed for a client who gave private music lessons and wanted an easy way to keep her current schedule updated, this plug-in is useful for anyone who wants to keep a schedule of weekly appointments, such as classes or tutoring sessions.

To try it out, simply download the ZIP, extract to your wp-content/plugins directory, activate the plug-in, and then insert into a blog post using (left brace) PLANNER (right brace), as I’m doing right here:

This plug in has a lot of potential. I would love if it could handle multiple timezones and had a pulldown to let you select the timezone displayed so the viewer could choose their timezone. Maybe a switch in the code that calls the planner to automatically choose the detault timezone on that page?

Also if it were possible to have themes, bit more of a major upgrade but nice if it could be done.

Also multiple planners to allow for 1-6 weeks or more.

Hope you can consider this, there is a real need for a proper planner for businesses, podcasters, internet radio st->

Hey Steve, thanks for the feedback! Good suggestion with the time zone idea; I was thinking more locally with the plug-in, but there’s no reason it couldn’t have a global use for internet radio stations, as you suggest. Themes shouldn’t be a very difficult upgrade; there’s already quite a bit of color customization available throgymnastics.
Hope, if it’ s possible you think about me!!

    Hi Mike,

First off, thank you for developiry-content comment-content">

Hey everyone, thanks for fault CSS that gets put into the database. You have the right line number of what do change (the width of “.planner-table”), but to change the CSS, you’ll have to change the PHP that’s currently in the database via SQL. To be honest, it was a large oversight on my part to not let the CSS be editable from the admin interface, so I apologize for that. That will be implemented in the next version as well.

    Hi,

this is a great plugin, I am going to install it onto my site later tonight when I get home.

this is exactly the kinda thing I have been looking for… and the features in the next version will be extremely helpful. I was wondering when the next version is expected to be released, if it is soon I shall wait for the next version before installing.

    Mike,

Liking what I am seeing so far. Have you made progress on expanding the functionality of this plugin? I was hoping to use it, but I need users to be able to schedule appointments.

    Hi Mike

really liking the plugin! – nice work :-)

it will be ever so better once there are multiple schedules and users are allowed to add to the schedule.

Is there any chance of being able to display a month a time? and also select the following month to make a booking?

Looking forward to seeing the new version!

    thanks :)

Great widget! Two questions or suggestions:
Can appointments be uploaded from Microsoft Outlook 2003 (or ical) and then edited?
How can I get the calendar to appear in a sidebar?

I agree with Eric, the new version sounds even better still…..
How is the new version getting on, do you have a release date in mind?

    Thanks
